Anglers in Nevada and Arizona interested in catching largemouth bass should consider a trip to Lake Mead. The large lake consists of numerous docks and fish-cleaning stations, with most anglers heading to Echo Bay, Temple Bay, or Willow Beach. A person must have a Nevada or Arizona state fishing license in order to fish at Lake Mead. A Nevada license can be secured through the Nevada Department of Wildlife.

Lake Mead’s largemouth bass are large, aggressive fish that can approach 40 inches in length. Lake Mead officials prohibit anglers from catching more than six black bass per day. The lake is also home to smallmouth bass and striped bass, as well as other fish species, such as green sunfish and bluegill.

Other activities at Lake Mead, meanwhile, include hiking, camping, and horseback riding. More information about lake activities can be found at nps.gov.
